Tag Placement & Other Tips...

Toys
  • Any toys with small parts can be put in a ziplock bag. Place the index card inside the ziplock bag. You should tape the bag shut so little hands can't get in and take pieces out before it is sold. If you have items in a box make sure you are putting packing tape over the top so little hands don't get in.
Large Items
  • For any large items such as cribs, play equipment, strollers, etc please place the index card in an easy to see spot. If small pieces come with it please place them in a ziplock bag and attach to the large item.
Media
  • Tape the index card somewhere on these items or in their bag if applicable.
No Staples Or Stick Pins!
  • Do not staple any bags or tags. Do not use stick pins for clothing or tags.
Clothing
  • For sets of clothing you can use pant hangers or safety pin the bottoms to the top.
  • For bottoms you can use pant hangers or use safety pins to attach to a child or wire hanger.
  • Please button buttons, zip zippers & snap snaps. Appearance can mean the difference of your item being sold or not.
  • For delicate items, feel free to pin the safety pin in a discreet area if you are worried it will leave a hole.
  • Shoes can be put in a ziplock bag, safety pinned together, or rubber banded together

Pricing Tips that may help you sell more items...
  • A good price to charge for an item is about 1/4 to 1/3 of what the item would cost brand new.
  • Consider this a time to make some extra cash! Do not waste your time or energy by pricing items too high.
  • Consider making your items half price for the last day! (for spring/fall sales) If you have a minimum you want to sell something for, double the price so it can go 1/2 off. Shoppers buy more things if they are 1/2 off.
  • The success of ABC Kids Children's Consignment Sale depends on a good turnout of shoppers- let's give them the deals they are looking for- then they will tell their friends who will buy more of your items!

Packaging Tips that we have found useful...
  • If you have smaller toy items, group them together in a ziplock bag to make the minimum $2 price. If you put items in a ziplock bag, please place the tag inside the bag OR make sure it is SECURELY attached to the outside of the bag- packing tape works best.
  • Hangers will not be returned at the end of the sale on any items that have sold. We give the hangers to the shoppers when they buy an item.
  • Many stores will give out their hangers for free IF they have extra. You will need to call ahead to ask, ask politely, and bring your own bag or box to take them home in. Please be respectful and remember they are giving them to you for free. Try Kohls or Old Navy.. Call ahead a few days in advance.
